Did you know Bradford Woods hosts programming for veterans?

May 17, 2017 by Chad Simmons

For the year of 2017, Bradford Woods already has 16 events in the books that serve military veterans and their families.   If you’re a veteran and you’re looking for resources, support, or to just get out of the house, check out our programming and get in touch with our partners!

Family Battle Buddies – Our Family Battle Buddies Program serves veterans and their families in a weekend format. Families arrive on Friday evening and engage in meaningful family programming until their departure on Sunday afternoon. The goal of the programming is to build a network of social support between military families and to explore new ways to build family togetherness. This program is possible because of our partnership with The Department of Veteran Affairs. For enrollment information, please contact Adryanne Bonner at ABonner@dva.IN.gov! For more info, check out this cool video.

Project Odyssey (Wounded Warrior Project) – Project Odyssey is a retreat for veterans aimed at building new skills, connecting with peers and finding support for combat stress. During Project Odyssey, veterans will explore new pathways to recovery and have some fun doing so! There is also a Project Odyssey for couples – so if you and your spouse are ready for an adventure, this is the program for you. For more information, check out the Wounded Warrior Project Website and apply online.

Other organizations that will be visiting Bradford Woods this year are:

Strong Bonds, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and the STARR program.

If you have any questions about these events, would like to plan your own event, or even if you just want to chat feel free to contact Jordan McIntire at jlmcinti@indiana.edu or 765-342-2915 X 5263.
