Feature Friday: Rachel Dobias, Outdoor Education Program Specialist
Content Submitted By: Rachel Dobias
It’s officially the spring program season here at Bradford Woods, and with the change of season comes a change in programming staff. This is where I come in!
I am Rachel Dobias and I am a combined Outdoor Education Program Specialist here at Bradford Woods this season. I’ll be working with Retreats as well as Military and Family Programming. I’m a senior at Indiana University studying Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management, soon to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation. I have previously worked with non-profit youth as a Youth Development Professional and spent two summers as a camp counselor in Bloomington, Indiana. Throughout my time here at Bradford Woods I’d like to gain experience in and learn more about non-profit and family programming, adventure and outdoor education, and event management all while completing my internship.
Some of my favorite outdoor activities include hiking, preferably with my dog (cue the “awws”), pretending to be Pocahontas while kayaking (and simultaneously painting with all the colors of the wind), and tying up my hammock to enjoy a good book or little nap. The great outdoors, a plethora of activities & plenty of opportunity to explore…can I ask for a better place to spend an internship? (Hint: the answer is no.)
If the nearing warm weather is enticing you or your group to enjoy the great outdoors through staying at an overnight facility, spending a few hours working on your archery skills, or challenging yourself on our Alpine and Climbing Towers Bradford Woods is a great place to discover.
