What is the ACCT?
The Association for Challenge Course Technology is the governing organization that provides the industry standards for the installation, maintenance, and managing of the challenge course and adventure course industry.
Why do we go?
Bradford Woods has been involved with the ACCT conference for many years. Attending the conference adds value to Bradford Woods thought staying up to date with the industry standards and practices, and professional development opportunities for our staff. Melanie Wills, Director of Outdoor Education and Professional Services and Ryan Craven, Assistant Director of Adventure Education – both attended the ACCT Annual Conference this year. Each participated in multiple educational workshops and continued to develop and maintain long-standing relationships with various organizations involved with the ACCT.
The conference also serves another important role for Bradford Woods. As a leader within the industry in regards to universal challenge course technology and programing, the conference enables us to network and share that information with other organizations. Melanie serves as the chairperson for the Universal Access Affinity Group within the ACCT and is also a presenter during the conference, discussing various aspects of universal design and programing. We continue to improve and expand our ability to provide inclusive and experiential opportunities for participants of all abilities!
